Tightening provisions. Unless otherwise specified long handle lugs, shall be located on the swivel nut
only. When specified long handle lugs shall be located on both male and female sections.
Coupling hose threads. Coupling hose threads shall be either National Hose (NH) or National Pipe
Straight Hose (NPSH) in accordance with FED-STD-H28/10. NH and NPSH threads are not
interchangeable.

Short shank. Short shank hose assemblies shall have one clamp for sealing of couplings to hose see
figure 1 and figure 3 for typical assembly.
Long shank. Long shank hose assemblies shall have two or more clamps for sealing of couplings to
hose, see figure 2 and figure 3 for typical assembly.
Short and long shank hose clamp . Short and long shank hose clamps shall be in accordance with
A-A-52506 for designators see table II (class AA) or table III (class B).
Hose clamps. Hose clamps shall be in accordance with A-A-52506 see figure 5.
Compression ferrule. Compression ferrule shall be in accordance with A-A-59614.
Expansion ring. Expansion ring hose assemblies, see figure 4.
Gasket. Hose assemblies shall come with a gasket, see figure 3. Gasket material shall be suitable for
potable water or non-potable water as applicable.
NOTE: Hose assemblies for this CID are not intended to meet the pressure requirements of the
couplings.
