Construction. Unless otherwise specified, type III coupling parts shall be in accordance with
A-A-59326/6 (coupling half, female) and A-A-59326/2 (coupling half, male). See table II for coupling style

Materials. The coupling shall be cast or machined from aluminum, copper alloy (brass), steel,
polypropylene, heat stabilized 6/6 nylon, or corrosion resistant steel, (see table II and figure 1)
Couplings. Couplings when attached to hose shall be able to withstand an internal hydrostatic pressure
of 100 psi, for at least one minute without showing any signs of leakage.
Materials. Couplings shall be cast, machined, pressed or extruded from one of the materials in table III.

Clamp design. The clamp shall have grooved or waffled interior surfaces equipped for gripping and
compressing the hose surface against the nipple.
